Do you look after someone?
Do you look after someone? If you answer is yes then you are a carer, one of an army of six million carers across the UK. A carer is someone who looks after a family member, friend or relative who is ill, frail, disabled or suffering mental ill health. They could also be misusing alcohol or drugs. The care they provide is unpaid.
Being a carer is tough, but help and supportĀ is available. On the pages of our website you will find all sorts of useful information about the services we can provide through the Carers Centre, and how we can support you. It may be that you do not need any of our services, but would like to know what we get up to at the Carers Centre. Whatever your caring situation, our website provides the information you need to support and advise.
We hope you will find it useful. If you have any comments or suggestions we would love to hear from you, please leave a message at carerscentre@portsmouthcc.gov.uk
