About the Carers Centre
Portsmouth Carers Centre started life as a small office in the old Macdonald Watson day centre in Landport. In 2003 it moved into a shop-front office in
Kingston Road where it continued to grow until in July 2008 it moved into its current home in Orchard Road, Southsea.
The Carers Centre is a community resource dedicated to the support of all carers in the city of Portsmouth. We are a one stop shop for carers in the city of Portsmouth, offering a variety of support, including financial, training, young carers, adult mental health, emotional support, and also a carers supported self assessment. We also have a wealth of information within the building, including leaflets, and members of staff who have a wide knowledge of services in the local area. We are open from 9 – 5 Monday to Thursday and 9 – 4:30 on Friday and anyone can drop in to the centre during these hours. If you are unable to attend the centre, you can contact us either via phone on 023 9285 1864 or 023 9275 6780, letter, or via email at carerscentre@portsmouthcc.gov.uk.
Within the centre you will find excellent facilities there for the use of carers and carers groups. These include a small meeting room so you can chat to someone in private if you wish, two larger meeting rooms, a cafe style area with free internet access and a modern, fully equipped teaching kitchen.
