However, we’ve created this page so you can quickly and easily find the most important pieces of information you need.

Carers Support Organisations

Carers UK- National organisation to support carers and lobby for carers rights.

Carers UK Portsmouth- Local branch of the national organisation.

Caring for someone- direct.gov.uk- The government’s website, providing information around varoius topics, including benefits, carers assessments, and more.

NHS Carers Direct- The NHS website for carers, providing information and carers stories.

Carers Together- Hampshire based organisation, that provides support to carers in Hampshire.

National Carers Strategy- The national strategy to ensure that carers are supported and recognised.

Portsmouth Carers Strategy- The local strategy to support and recognise carers in Portsmouth.  

Carers Trust- National charity supporting carers in a variety of ways. It is a result of the Princess Royal Trust for Carers and Crossroads Care merging.

Portsmouth City Council Health Improvement and Development Service- The Health Improvement and Development Service (HIDS) aims to promote good physical and mental health and well being.

Portsmouth City Council Adult Social Care- Adult social care are committed to protecting and supporting vulnerable individuals, as well as promoting healthy lifestyles.

Social Care in Portsmouth (SCiP)- Portsmouth City Council’s social care hub of online information.

Portsmouth Local Involvement Network (LINk)- Makes it easier for communities to have their say about healthcare services in Portsmouth.

Solent NHS- Provide a range of community services across Portsmouth, Southampton and some areas of Hampshire.

Sensory Impairment Services- Promoting independence and community involvement for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, vision impaired or dual loss.    

Children and Families- Childrens and families are committed to supporting families and protecting children in Portsmouth.

Occupational Therapy- May provide adaptations and equipment, to support individuals live at home for a s long as possible.

Health Visitors- Supports and advises new parents and lasts until 16 years old (19 for disabled children).
