Carers Strategy

The new Carers Strategy was launched on Tuesday June 13th. The council and health services hosted an event to launch the strategy, where there was different activities and information stands, to celebrate and support carers in Portsmouth. Carers city wide have been consulted, and the strategy has idenitified several priorities which include: 

  • Identifying and including carers
  • Caring and support training
  • Information, advice and advocacy
  • Carers shaping policy and services
  • Peer and community support
  • Breaks
  • Access to work and training
  • Access to benefits
  • Crisis support
  • Access to health and wellbeing services
  • Support for young people and children who are carers
